Genuflection
I wrote this poem in March 2002. It won some award or was recognized, or something. I can’t remember what right now, but I submitted it to some contest.
Genuflection
I was genuflecting,
that is, genuinely reflecting
pondering space and God and flight
bowing in my heart to Him
I squared my shoulders
and stood tall
while inward inclined
a kneeling heart
motionless lips, screaming heavenward
with resolute uncertainty I move
into the veiled unknown

Great poem. I love it. Do you have any others to post soon?
Others will be coming soon. I have one about an untimely death in a Wal-Mart loading dock.
That is a great poem. It has tried to catch the feeling and really describes the act of genuflection as much as words can. May God help you to use what He has given you as a poet.
