Romney Prepping for the Primaries?
Tonight Gov. Romney spoke to the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women. It’s a good move. Early on he is courting a key state in the Republican Primary Process. It makes sense. New Hampshire borders Massachusetts. Gov. Romney is popular enough in Massachusetts (where his having been elected in the first place is quite remarkable) , and that good will spills over into neighboring states. This state is key if he has presidential aspirations. I think the fact that he’s from a Liberal state helps him. If he can get things done there, and still toe the conservative line, that performance may be extrapolated into the White House.
He looked good. Spoke well. He played the SLC Olympic card effectively and prominently. He name dropped - he spoke of occastion in which he shared significant moment with VP Cheney and President Bush. All in all, a good showing.
